Sinoway Forest and the Mauritania Green Great Wall Agency have joined hands in collaboration to jointly promote ecological restoration in the northwest of Africa.

On May 10, 2024, in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, the Mauritania National Green Great Wall Agency and Sinoway Forest Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinoway Forest") officially signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the ecological restoration efforts in the Sahara region of northwest Africa.

The Green Great Wall Project is a grand plan aimed at effectively containing the southward expansion of the Sahara Desert, protecting agricultural production and the ecological environment of the African continent by planting shelter forests. Led by the African Union, the project aims to address the social, economic, and environmental issues caused by land degradation and desertification in the Sahel and Sahara regions. The construction goal of the project is to build an ecological shelter forest belt of about 7,800 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide along the southern edge of the Sahara Desert, covering an area of over 100 million hectares of desertified land.

Located in the northwest of Africa, Mauritania faces severe environmental challenges due to its arid and semi-arid climate. In recent years, climate change has had a serious impact on local ecosystems and biodiversity, putting considerable pressure on the living conditions and economic environment of local residents.
