Focus on COP29: Sinoway Forest's Bilateral Meeting with Mauritania's Ministry of Environment Successfully Concluded

During the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held grandly in Baku, Azerbaijan, Sinoway Forest had the honor of engaging in a productive bilateral meeting with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Mauritania. As a specialist in the field of ecological restoration, Sinoway Forest seized this valuable opportunity to deeply exchange views and visions with the Mauritanian government on environmental protection and sustainable development.


The meeting focused on exploring cooperation pathways for ecosystem restoration, sustainable management of forest resources, and enhancing climate resilience. Sinoway Forest presented in detail its innovative projects on afforestation and natural resource management successfully implemented globally, particularly in arid regions, which not only demonstrated technological frontier advancements but also reflected a deep understanding and respect for local ecological conditions.

The Mauritanian delegation participating in the meeting was led by Mr. Sidi Mohamed Wafi, Special Mission Officer of the Office of the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development; Mr. Ahmed Hamada Zain; and Ms. Simina Wagui, along with the attendance of Mr. Salahdin Abbas, Legal Advisor; Mr. Musa Ba, Climate Officer; and Mr. Mohamed Zain, Director of Climate and Green Economy Services, highlighting Mauritania's high emphasis on this cooperation.

Both sides expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation through a strategic partnership to support Mauritania's climate commitments and contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources globally.

The entire meeting progressed in an atmosphere of friendly cooperation and mutual respect, not only deepening their understanding of common challenges but also clarifying the direction for future cooperation. Chairman Liu Tao stated: "Sinoway Forest will seize this opportunity to reiterate that as a pioneer in ecological restoration, we are firmly committed to exploring and practicing effective strategies for environmental protection. We look forward to closely cooperating with the Mauritanian government to jointly make substantial contributions to the sustainable management of natural resources and the response to climate change globally."
